For the next seven months, I’ll be based at National Taiwan University (September 4-January 14) and Shanghai Jiaotong University (January 15-April 4) working as a Fulbright scholar. The goal of my research is to gain a deeper understanding of what young (age 18-30) Taiwanese think about three important topics: Taiwan’s domestic politics, cross-Strait relations, and mainland China. As a Fulbrighter, I’m also representing the people of the United States, in all our glorious diversity. I’m looking forward to doing my work, and to seeing my old friends. I’m also excited to get outside my Taipei and Shanghai comfort zones to meet new people, visit new places, and encounter new experiences.
Best of luck (and have fun), Dr. Rigger! Bookmarking and will follow along.
